Digital Learning Assets

The AT Health, Safety and Wellbeing team wanted a character developing to help guide learners through their Health Safety and Wellbeing induction modules. They had previously used staff photos in their eLearning modules but they felt that these aged very quickly and did not accurately reflect the diversity of the AT workforce. The team wanted an ambiguous character that could not be defined by race, age or sex.

From these serious intentions, a fun ‘Andi’ bean figure was created from the graphic elements of the AT logo. Using the same simple shapes and colours created an immediate association with the AT brand, made the character super simple to animate and gave plenty of scope for creating character variations.

‘Andi’ proved very popular and was used across a range of learning resources. A sister character was later adapted and developed as ‘Jess’ who was used across eLearning resources for the procurement team.
